1 HANOVER

A grand staircase is at the heart of One Hanover, a sweeping renovation spanning over 27,000 square feet in Manhattan's Financial district situated above Harry’s Bar, a Hemingway haunt dating back to 1911.

With the setup and amenities of a chic social club, a primary palette of chalky white paint, warm walnut wood, and marble mosaics evoke a sense of serenity in juxtaposition with the building’s colossal scale. Throughout the space, an eclectic selection of art, storied objects, and furniture eloquently articulate multiple eras of design, devising the project's own language of contemporary comfort through nostalgic admiration.

Instead of recreating history, this considered renovation interacts with it, ultimately resulting in something that feels both classic and modern, existing in some ethereal in-between era of time.
